In attempting to save financial capital, will the NHS lose social capital?

When PTCs are abolished and replaced by GP-led NHS services - what is going to happen to all the existing relationships between PCTs and the public? Over the years, and sometime at great cost, ties have been built up both formally and informally between PCTs and the community though patient groups, carers' groups, enthusiastic passionate NHS representatives and community members.

Online conversation on using social media in the NHS

NHS local take part in another live tweet-up focusing on using social media in the NHS. There have been further conversations happening today on Twitter, focusing on the issues around integrating social media into the NHS. A number of PCTs joined in and discussed how using Facebook and Twitter has helped them to engage with the public. Individuals spoke about moving away from broadcasting messages towards the public and instead listening and responding to people.
