The Institute of Healthcare Management is inviting people and families of those receiving end of life care to an event in Birmingham to help create a new interactive website.
The Resources for People and Families Stakeholder Event is being held in partnership with the West Midlands SHA and website developer Rippleffect. It is open to all stakeholders and is being held at Birmingham Voluntary Services Council in Digbeth on Thursday, 2 February 2012.
The vision is for the website to provide information for people who are at any stage of the End of Life Care pathway from diagnosis to end of life. It will provide details about the voluntary and health and social care available in their area and where to go for support.
A key aspect of this vision is that users will be able to add their own content to the site, so it is truly theirs. The site is due to launch at the end of March 2012.
The three-hour event will examine how the project has progressed and how it might develop in the future. There will also be a friendly "Dragon’s Den" session designed to give participants a chance to shape the resource and ensure its legacy in years to come.
