Karen Lynch, a midwifery deputy antenatal screening co-ordinator, explains her role in maternity care.

During pregnancy the community midwife will offer screening texts to check for various diseases and conditions. If the results of the tests show the need for further care, a screening co-ordinator or midwife will discuss the results and follow up care.

The screening midwife is more than happy to discuss any concerns that might arise from screening.
